PERFECT PALETTE'S

Hello,

So as the first post I have done for a while, I thought that I would show you and give you a review of two eyeshadow palettes that I have received lately.

The two palettes I am going to be reviewing today are the 'Naked 3' palette created by Urban Decay and the 'Girls On Film' palette created by Revolution. I kindly received them both as gifts. My 'Naked 3' palette was given to me by my mum and dad for christmas and the 'Girl On Film' palette was given to me by my friend for christmas.

These two palettes have some colours that are similar but the 'Naked 3' is more gold, pinky toned and the 'Girls On Film' has a lot more range of colours. 'Urban Decay' is a more high end make-up brand whereas 'Revolution' is drugstore and can be purchased in Superdrug. Although there is a difference in price, I was pleased with the pigmentation of the 'Revolution' palette. Through earlier experiences with drugstore eyeshadow I did not know how this was going to be. I am impressed with this palette and I have to say that it is going to be a firm keeper in my make-up collection. The 'Naked 3' lives up to all the good reviews I have read. The pigmentation is better than the other palette but I was expecting that. The eyeshadow stays on until you remove it and there is hardly any fall out. That can be annoying when halfway through the day you have eyeshadow under your eyes.

The packaging differs between the two. The 'Naked 3' feels tough, long lasting and protective. I have carried this around in my bag and suitcase and it has not become damaged. It is a gold/bronze colour with ripples running through it. On the other hand, the packaging containing the other eyeshadows feels cheaper. I feel like it is still protective but not as safe as the 'Urban Decay' packaging. The 'Naked 3' is more tin like whereas the other is more plastic. It has a glossy shine to it.

The 'Girls On Film' shimmer eyeshadows are more pigmented than the matte eyeshadows. Both of the palettes contain a mixture of shimmer and matte which is a lovely combination.

From top to bottom, left to right the colours are - Give Me Shudders, Bridge At Midnight, Waking Hand In Hand, Shooting Star, Lights Flashing, Heads Turning, One In A Million, Frenzy All Down Your Side, Camera Rolling, So Bright, Lipstick Over The Lens, Take Your Picture, She's Falling, Smile Wider, Polaroid Heaven, Girls On Film, Hold Tight, Made A Million. The matte shades are on the left in the circles and shimmers on the right.

This palette came with a two ended sponge brush, unlike the 'Naked' palette which came with a two ended bristle brush. One end flat and the other more fluffy.

I love that these two palettes can be used together to create a soft or edgy look.

Colours from left to right - Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart.

I have currently being using these two palettes to create a natural look that I have been wearing everyday. I will write you a little tutorial of how I do this.

This mainly consists of matte shades being the base and shimmer being on the top.

  1. I apply 'Limit' on the whole of my lid.
  2. Blend 'Nooner' in the crease.
  3. Apply 'Buzz' in the middle of the eye.
  4. Then I put 'Factory on the outside edge and blend it in.
  5. After put 'Dust' and 'Strange' in the inner corner, to brighten up your eyes.
  6. After I blend a tiny bit of 'Lipstick Over The Lens' (Revolution palette) into the outside edge of my eye and blend it out.
This creates a subtle and bronze smokey everyday natural eye look.

I am rounding this blog post up and I have realised how much I like taking the photos and writing this blog. I hope you will come and read next time. I have not yet set a schedule of when I am going to be writing these blog posts but hopefully there should be at least one a week. Today I have taken many photos of what I am going to be writing about.

I hope you enjoyed this and I will see you next time, remember to click the follow button so you can be updated when I publish a blog post. It would mean a lot to me if you were to click that button so I can try and meet my 500 readers wish.

ROCK THE ROCKATEUR

Hello,

Today I am showing you a little treasure which would be ideal as a present or a treat. I asked for this for Christmas because it had some testers in the pack, that I wanted to try out before splashing out the cash on the full product. This is Benefit's 'Rock-ITUDE'. I would be so happy if I received this as a birthday gift/treat.

It comes in this gorgeous packaging. It is pink and gold with a crocodile print. It is rose gold inspired as it states on the packaging.

Inside you get 4 products. A tester of 'Benetint', a tester of 'High Beam', a tester of 'Rockateur' blush and an 'Ultra Plush Rockateur' (lip gloss).

The colour of this is a lot more pinky than it has come up on camera. It is almost identical to 'Rockateur' blush. But it is a tiny bit darker.

Inside the box these testers come in, there is a 'Tips and Tricks, Instant Beauty' guide. This shows you how to apply the different products in the box.

Benetint - This is a cheek and lip stain. In my opinion this does not work on my lips. My friend who has also tried this out, said that it gives her a nice rosy lip. On my cheeks, it gives my face a nice fresh tint.

High Beam - I love this. It gives a lovely shine on my cheek bones and gives the right amount of shimmer. It is so long-lasting.

Rockateur blush - This is a lovely burst of colour for my cheeks. I would recommend this to anyone. It is a very rosy blush.

Rockateur lip gloss - This smells so good! I like the colour of this but it is not my favourite. I am not used to the colour of this so I think I need to adjust. The consistency applies so nicely on the lips and gives a lovely shine. If you only go for matte lips this would not be for you, it is very glossy.

I would recommend this for anyone. I hope you enjoyed this and I will see you next time, remember to click the follow button so you can be updated when I publish a blog post. It would mean a lot to me if you were to click that button so I can try and meet my 500 readers wish.

WHAT A BIG ONE // REFLECTING ON 2014

Hello,

I have had a massive break from blogging. I have had a lot of work with school as well as out of school activities. Since I have moved up to one of my GCSE years in school now, a lot of pressure has been put on our backs as well as a lot more work. It has been hard to have the time to take pictures, sit down and then write blog posts. This is something I want to get back into. In the uk, daylight saving has come upon us and has made it very hard to take pictures when I get in from school as the light has faded by 4 o'clock. At the weekends when I actually get time to sit and relax, I don't do that as I have more and more homework as well as seeing my friends out of school. Anxiety levels have run high and I have been stressed the last few weeks before breaking up for the christmas holidays. My friend kindly remembered me that I only have 3 days left off and then I go back to the dreaded place. This makes my heart drop because I know that I still have to do homework which has just piled up and what I should of really done at the start of the holidays, but no. I had to leave it until the last few days of the holidays. What I really want to be doing right now is being tucked up in bed, watching Youtube and Netflix with a massive chocolate bar by the side of me, but I can't.

Today is the 1st of January 2015 and everybody lets the 'New year, New me' statement out. Which really means, this healthy eating and new gym lifestyle is going to only last for a week tops. What i want to achieve this year, is to keep writing blog posts and enjoy myself. I want to set a goal of getting 500 readers. I know this isn't a lot but I would like to achieve this and be happy with myself. Looking into the future, I am hoping to save up for a better camera to take my blog posts with and to maybe record a few youtube videos. Also, get some lighting equipment so I can take photos in the dark. This will work better in the lifestyle I have at the moment.

Another thing for the new year that many people say, is to be a better person. 2014 has had many ups and downs for me. Friendship fall outs, anxiety but mainly having a great year. I have created so many good memories as well as making so many new friends. I also met Andy Jordan! (MiC) I have been able to achieve a lot more in the subjects I love this year as I have had the opportunity to drop the subjects I don't enjoy. This has been better as I can concentrate on my most loved subjects and not my loathed ones. Also, I have been able to get my head down because in the some of the subjects you are in now, the people with you there want to be there. For example art. Many students in my old class took it as a 'mess around' lesson. Most of the time everybody in the class used to come out of the lesson covered head to toe in paint! I took art as one of my GCSE options and I am enjoying it a lot.

One of the things that have changed the appearance of this blog. I had started to not like the title 'KitheQueen' so I thought I would have a remix and make this site more mature. I have gone for the classic white and black theme as I think this stands out. I hope no one is disappointed.

This post has become longer than I expected. oops.

Thank you for being a good year 2014, I hope 2015 is a better one! I hope you enjoyed this and I will see you next time, remember to click the follow button so you can be updated when I publish a blog post. It would mean a lot to me if you were to click that button so I can try and meet my 500 readers wish. Here are some of my favourite photos of this year.
